On June 2, 2023, the on-site review meeting for the group standard "Ultrasonic Smart Gas Meters" by the China Urban Gas Association was held in Beijing. The meeting was chaired by Liu Jinlan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Standards Working Committee of the China Urban Gas Association, and attended by seven review experts, including the chief review expert Yang Youtao from the Beijing Institute of Metrology and Testing. Zheng Zaifeng, the representative of the chief editor unit, Shanghai Gas Co., Ltd., provided a detailed report on the drafting process of this standard. Fang Jiong from Viewshine interpreted the standard contents.
The group standard "Ultrasonic Smart Gas Meters" was drafted by Shanghai Gas Co., Ltd., with contributions from Viewshine and other units. After this review, it will be officially released during the China Urban Gas Association Standards Committee 2023 Annual Meeting and Gas Safety Operation and Smart Construction Seminar, which will be held in Shanghai on July 26.
Based on the national standard GB/T 39841-2021 "Ultrasonic Gas Meters," this group standard regulates the intelligent application-related content. It specifically addresses issues encountered in the practical application of ultrasonic gas meters and describes the norms for intelligent applications. The standard adds functionalities such as anti-disturbance flow, high-frequency pulsating flow, flow analysis, local communication, settlement functions, real-time clock, and firmware upgrades, serving as an important supplement to the national standard in practical applications.
The implementation of this group standard will further enhance the standardization level of ultrasonic metering products and improve the quality of ultrasonic gas meters. It will play a positive role in regulating the domestic ultrasonic gas meter product market, narrowing the gap with international advanced levels, driving industrial structure adjustment and optimization, and promoting healthy and sustainable development of the industry.
